The Daylesford region is abundant with towering escarpments, fern-framed waterfalls, rolling hills and row upon row of vineyards and lavender fields, a truly picturesque destination.
From the summit of Mount Macedon, guests can experience spectacular views out over Melbourne. They can also discover the Hanging Rock, a six-million-year-old dormant volcano and one of the region’s most celebrated landmarks.
Another of the region’s icons is the natural mineral water springs, of which Daylesford has the largest number of. These waters and the surrounding areas have long believed to be a significant place of healing by the local indigenous Australian people.
The Daylesford region experiences 4 distinct seasons throughout the year.
The summer season (December through to February), typically experiences warm days and nights, and is perfect for getting out and about amongst the region. The average daily weather during these months sits between 26 – 28.1°C (78.8 – 82.6°F). In winter (June to August), the days become much cooler, with the temperature averaging between 11.3 – 12.9°C (52.3 – 55.2°F).
Between autumn (March to May) and spring (September to November) the temperatures become significantly milder, with the days averaging between 15.6 – 26°C (60 – 78.8°F).
