qualia

qualia is a unique, world class luxury resort in Australia.

Occupying a sun-drenched location on the northern-most tip of Hamilton Island, it looks out to Coral Sea waters – home to the Great Barrier Reef – and vistas of mesmerising calm.

qualia has been meticulously considered to relax the mind yet completely spoil the senses, offering 60 exquisitely appointed pavilions that sit in perfect harmony with the rare, natural beauty of the Whitsunday Islands.

Two exclusive restaurants provide the ideal stage to whet the appetite with cuisine both fresh and innovative; two climate-controlled infinity edge pools (one at the Long Pavilion and the other at Pebble Beach) provide the ultimate in liquid refreshment, and Spa qualia offers a luxurious menu of local and international indulgent treatments..

A utopia sitting in sublime isolation… The food is modern Australia cuisine at its best. – Condé Nast (UK)

The Whitsunday Islands / Great Barrier Reef

qualia is located on the northern-most point of Hamilton Island in the Whitsundays and is one of Australia’s natural wonders – a treasure chest of 74 emerald islands set in a sapphire sea.

The island group lies midway along Australia’s Queensland coast, with the famous Great Barrier Reef reached after a short boat or seaplane ride. Airlie Beach is the vibrant hub of the region, and gateway to the islands – only eight of which are inhabited. The Whitsunday islands and waters are rich with wildlife, the beaches and coves are places of magic. Sink your feet into the white, silica sands of world-famous Whitehaven Beach; hike an island trail to secret bays; or set sail across the sparkling azure waters, keeping company with the dolphins and rays.

Each of the inhabited islands is known for setting its own pace, offering a mix of popular resorts, gleaming marinas and exclusive retreats.

The Great Barrier Reef is the world’s largest reef system comprised of nearly 3,000 individual reefs and 900 islands – it is also the planet’s biggest single structure made by billions of tiny organisms known as coral polyps. It stretches for over 2,600km, covering approximately 350,000 square kilometres.

A large part of the reef is protected by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, which helps to limit the impact of human use.
